This weekend, renowned painter, muralist, and ultrarunner Yatika Starr Fields (Osage, Cherokee, and Muskogee Creek) is running in the Western States Endurance Run. The 100-mile race, which will begin at 5 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, takes place on the Western States Trail through the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California. This popular trail runs along with the homelands of the Southeastern Pomo, Ohlone, Washoe, and the Nisenan. Tekoh that a plaintiff may not sue a police officer for obtaining an improper admission of an “un-Mirandized” statement used in a criminal prosecution.
