Growing up Native can be hard. Because my skin was dark, in second grade kids told me, “You look dirty.” I felt different, like I didn’t belong.

The list of fiscally-sound, shovel-ready economic development projects in Indian Country is long. What’s always in short supply is available capital to finance development. Minnesota-based Indian Land Capital Company (ilcc.net) was formed to help address that need. Founded in 2005 by the nonprofit Indian Land Tenure Foundation (iltf.org), ILCC is a Certified Native Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) that provides flexible financing to tribes and tribal enterprises.

This video from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s Learn More Breathe Better® health education program helps you know the symptoms and learn how to take action to keep asthma under control.

Between Two Knees is an outrageously funny ride through American history written by the acclaimed intertribal sketch comedy troupe The 1491s (writers of Reservation Dogs and Rutherford Falls) and directed by Eric Ting. Following acclaimed runs over the past five years at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Yale Repertory Theatre, McCarter Theater, and Seattle Rep, this play makes its New York premiere at Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) in lower Manhattan from February 3 to February 24. The hilarious show takes a hard look at the effects of systemic oppression long after our textbooks typically stop teaching Native history.
