Dr. Amanda Chisum-Price has been appointed to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health Center for Indigenous Innovation and Health Tribal Advisory Committee as an At-Large Delegate.

She currently serves as Chief of Staff for Choctaw Nation Health Services Authority, where she leads more than 200 providers in delivering health care to tribal members and Native Americans throughout the Choctaw Nation’s service area.

Chisum-Price has worked at Choctaw Nation Health since 2011 and previously served as chief surgeon, overseeing more than 50 surgery providers, including dentists, podiatrists and optometrists, across the Choctaw Nation hospital, nine clinics and an outpatient surgery center. In 2023, she received the  National Indian Health Board’s Area Impact Award.

Chisum-Price’s career largely focused on improving breast cancer care and outcomes for Indigenous women. Under her leadership, Choctaw Nation developed a cancer program that received a Certificate of Distinction in the Management of Breast Cancer from The Joint Commission. She also established Breast, Survivorship and High-Risk clinics and helped bring breast MRI capabilities to two Choctaw Nation sites, along with genetic and genomic testing programs.

“I am honored to serve as an At-Large Delegate on the Center for Indigenous Innovation and Health Tribal Advisory Committee,”  Chisum-Price said in a statement. “As a Choctaw physician and health care leader, I look forward to sharing the experiences and perspectives of our patients, providers and communities while learning from tribal health leaders across the country. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to efforts that can improve health outcomes for Indigenous people nationwide.”
