ADA, Okla. — Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby led groundbreaking ceremonies Feb. 10 to begin construction for a new pediatric clinic on the Chickasaw Nation Ada South Campus, marking a significant milestone in health care and the mission to enhance the overall quality of life of the Chickasaw people.
The new Chickasaw Nation Pediatric Clinic will accommodate the growing number of patient visits the clinic has experienced since first opening in 2010, Governor Anoatubby said, and allow for expanded, comprehensive pediatric services.
“This is the next chapter in strong pediatric care, one where primary care remains the foundation and specialized developmental and supportive services are integrated, so families experience connected, accessible and seamless care — a place where children can receive care from infancy through adolescence and families can find support at every stage,” Governor Anoatubby said.
Located at 1828 Carl Albert Blvd., the new 95,000-square-foot pediatric clinic will create dedicated spaces for well-child visits, and a separate waiting area and patient entrance for sick children, as well as accommodate drive-up appointments and testing.
The new three-story clinic will also allow for growth and expansion of sub-specialty services envisioned for the pediatric population and build on the great work of the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center’s dedicated pediatric team, Governor Anoatubby said.
“This project will serve to strengthen their work by surrounding them with developmental, therapeutic and supportive services that meet the needs of those in their care,” he said.
The stand-alone building will house general pediatrics on the first floor. The second floor will be dedicated to advanced, integrated pediatric specialty services that build directly on the strong foundation of general pediatrics, including the new pediatric developmental clinic and the Empowered Living Clinic.
The pediatric developmental clinic will be one of the few comprehensive developmental clinics in the nation offering diagnostics, early intervention, therapy and ongoing management in a single, coordinated setting.
Empowered Living focuses on health and wellness in youth by integrating medical, behavioral, nutritional, physical therapy and family-based approaches.
Developmental pediatric, speech, occupational and physical therapy are among the services that will be offered across both clinics.
Pediatric dentistry will be added in the future on the third floor, Governor Anoatubby said.
“Each of these services is part of a greater vision to offer well-rounded care for children and youth in ways that are tailored to the individual.”
The groundbreaking represents an investment in the future and the Chickasaw Nation’s commitment to caring for children from their earliest days, Governor Anoatubby said.
