Gun Lake Casino Resort (GLCR) today announced that Governor Gretchen Whitmer has appointed Brian Decorah, Senior Vice President and General Manager, to the Michigan Travel Commission. Decorah will serve a four-year term beginning August 21, 2026.
“It’s an honor to be appointed to the Michigan Travel Commission by Governor Whitmer,” said Decorah. “This is a great opportunity to support the growth of Michigan’s tourism, recreation, and hospitality industries—not only for Gun Lake Casino Resort, but for all of West Michigan.”
Decorah was selected for his extensive experience in the travel, tourism, and recreation sector. With more than 30 years in the gaming industry, he has overseen major casino and resort operations. His appointment reflects a deep understanding of the role tourism plays in driving regional economic development.
The Michigan Travel Commission was established to promote, maintain, and support the strategic growth of the state’s tourism industry. The Commission works with the Michigan Travel Bureau to develop long-term planning initiatives, evaluates annual performance, and collaborates with private and nonprofit partners to strengthen Michigan’s travel economy.
