Native Vote 2026
The campaign of U.S. Senate candidate Mary Peltola (Yup’ik) announced Thursday that it raised a record-breaking $7 million during the second quarter of 2026, setting a new benchmark for second-quarter fundraising by an Alaska candidate for the U.S. Senate.
According to the campaign, the fundraising effort was fueled overwhelmingly by small-dollar donors, with approximately 95 percent of contributions totaling $100 or less. The campaign said the average individual donation during the quarter was about $50.
Peltola credited the strong fundraising performance to broad grassroots support from Alaskans who are concerned about the state’s economic future.
“Alaskans want solutions to rising costs, scarcity, and a rigged system in DC that is putting special interests first,” Peltola said in a statement. “It’s going to take all of us, but together we’ll take on the rigged system in DC, lower costs, and restore abundance to our fisheries. I’m so grateful for the overwhelming support we’ve received from Alaskans, and we’re going to keep going everywhere and talking to everyone to win this race and put Alaska first.”
The campaign said it received contributions from supporters in more than 160 towns and villages across Alaska during the second quarter. Since launching her Senate bid, Peltola’s campaign said it has attracted donations from every borough and census area in the state.
Campaign officials also highlighted the diversity of the donor base, noting contributions came from Alaska fishermen, farmers, first responders, archaeologists, trail builders, train conductors, whale biologists, boat captains, small business owners, scientists, nurses, pilots, miners, longshoremen, deckhands, carpenters, firefighters, and avalanche specialists.
The fundraising announcement follows what the campaign described as growing momentum in the race. More than 10,000 Alaskans from over 160 communities have signed up to volunteer, according to campaign figures.
The campaign also pointed to recent developments in national race ratings, noting that both the Cook Political Report and Sabato’s Crystal Ball have shifted their outlook on Alaska’s U.S. Senate race in Peltola’s favor.
In recent months, Peltola has continued an extensive statewide campaign, traveling across Alaska to meet with voters. The campaign said she recently completed a tour through Interior Alaska and has visited communities from Fairbanks to Juneau while participating in campaign events, meeting volunteers, and speaking with residents throughout the state.
