CHICKASAW NATION -The Chickasaw Nation is hosting health clinics in Ada, Ardmore, Tishomingo and Purcell in honor of Men’s Health Week, all open to the public at no charge.
June is recognized nationally as Men’s Health Month. Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby signed a proclamation March 22, 2016, recognizing the week before Father’s Day as Men’s Health Week in the Chickasaw Nation. This year Men’s Health Week is June 11-17.
Men’s Health Month is celebrated across the country with screenings, health fairs, outreach and educational activities. The goal is to heighten awareness of preventable health problems in men and boys while encouraging early detection and treatment of disease.
Chickasaw Nation health fairs will address various men’s health related topics such as cancer, cholesterol and glucose levels, mental health and heart disease.
Informational booths will be available to visitors. Booths may include dental, family services, Tushka Fit, Moccasin Trails, pharmacy and nutrition services, among others depending on location.
