WASHINGTON – On Monday, EMILY’s List independent expenditure arm WOMEN VOTE! released a new ad highlighting Kevin Yoder’s support of former Governor Brownback and President Trump’s agendas that have harmed Kansans. The ad contrasts Yoder’s record with the new leadership that Sharice Davids will bring to Congress for Kansas working families.
The ad can be viewed below. It began running on Monday in the Kansas City media market.
“Kevin Yoder supported Brownback and Trump’s dangerous agendas at the expense of the Kansas families he was elected to help,” said Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILY’s List. “Kansans want a representative who will fight to improve education and protect health care coverage, not repeatedly fail them as Yoder has. Sharice Davids will be the voice families deserve standing up for them in Congress.”
We need to clean house in Topeka and Washington.
Brownback, Yoder, and Trump, wrong for Kansans. Standing against education, health care and our future.
Now’s the time to vote for change.
Vote for a new leader with a fresh approach.
Sharice Davids will fight for better education and to protect health care coverage for Kansans. Always standing up to special interests.
She has been training for this fight her whole life.
Davids, a tribal citizen of the Ho-Chunk Nation, won the Democratic nomination in Kansas 3rd Congressional District on August 8, 2018. Davids will face incumbent GOP Congressman Kevin Yoder in the general election in November.
Davids is one of two American Indian women running for Congress. Deb Haaland (Laguana Pueblo) is running in New Mexico’s 1st Congressional district. Given there has never been an American Indian woman in Congress, Indian Country is rooting for both candidates.
