WASHINGTON – During a brief comment section with reporters President Donald Trump said he had not received one phone call in opposition to the construction of the Dakota Access pipeline (DAPL).
When Native News Online’s Mark Charles attempted to call the White House to leave a comment, he discovered the White House comment telephone number was not in operation.
However, yesterday, he was able to get through to leave a comment.
“I received a comment today that someone was finally able to get through to the White House Comment line and register their opposition to the Dakota Access Pipeline. So I tried calling and, after waiting on hold for nearly 8 minutes, was able to get through and voice my opposition. I have no idea how long the line is open or how consistent it is. But apparently it is occasionally open,” Charles posted yesterday afternoon.
The number to call is 202-456-1111, which accepts from calls from 9:00 am – 5 pm – Eastern Standard Time.
