The Sioux Chef Founder, Chef Sean Sherman, To Speak At Tribal Green Symposium

LAS VEGAS — Award-winning author and Founder of The Sioux Chef, Chef Sean Sherman has been announced as the Featured Speaker of the 2019 Tribal Green Symposium February 19-20 at the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort.

The Tribal Green Symposium is Indian Country’s premier gathering of Tribal Leaders, regulators, lawmakers, and industry professionals focused on hemp and cannabis as drivers of Tribal economic development.

“There are many common threads between Nation-building through food sovereignty and Nation-building through Tribal economic development–be it through gaming, energy, or in our case, hemp and cannabis, the Symposium was developed to help Indian Country find those efficiencies and work towards entering and navigating through the new ‘Green’ economy,” says La Vonne Peck, former Chairwoman of the La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians and Partner at Native Network Consulting, organizer of the event.

“We are thrilled to host Chef Sean Sherman at this year’s Symposium,” says Peck; “Chef Sherman and his team at The Sioux Chef have led an historic revitalization of indigenous culture and identity through their work restoring and evolving traditional food systems across North America.”

In addition to reimagining Native American cuisine, The Sioux Chef, a team of 12 individuals, continue with their mission to help educate and make indigenous foods more accessible to as many communities as possible through the recently founded nonprofit North American Traditional Indigenous Food Systems  (NATIFS).
