WASHINGTON — The White House released a transcript of the telephone call between President Donald Trump and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky held on July 25, 2019. In the call, President Trump asks Zelensky to do a “favor” by investigating former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.
The White House says the transcript is “not a verbatim transcript.”
During the call, Trump asks Zelensky talk to U.S. Attorney General William Barr and his personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, who has no formal position with the United States government.
The release of the transcript comes on the heels of the U.S. House of Representatives beginning an impeachment inquiry of Trump.
