FORT HALL INDIAN RESERVATION— This Memorial Day weekend, tribal citizens living on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation in Idaho will be seeing 10 new road signs at various locations on the reservation. The Fort Hall Indian Reservation is home to the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes.
Workers began installing the signs yesterday and will finish today.
Last December, the Fort Hall Indian Reservation was declared a “Purple Heart Reservation.”The distinction was bestowed on the reservation by the Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) to honor tribal combat wounded veterans, which have been recognized by the country they so valiantly served.
The Fort Hall Indian Reservation is the only reservation in the United States that is recognized as a Purple Heart Reservation.
