Participate in Survey for Design of New Grant for Native Healthy Food Systems

Learning the importance of preparing healthy meals

Published May 23, 2018

Would you like to have input into the design of a new grant fund, technical assistance and training opportunities for Native peoples, organizations and communities that can help advance your work in food systems, nutrition and/or health through community organizing and policy change? If the answer is YES, please click here to make sure your needs and voices are heard!
The American Heart Association (AHA) and Voices for Healthy Kids (VFHK) are interested in learning more from Native community health and food advocates about the types of technical assistance and capacity building that is needed to support their important work. The results of the survey will help to inform the design of future technical assistance programs that may be offered in association with Indian Country initiatives that AHA is supporting that focus on advancing access to healthy and affordable foods, healthy nutrition and improved health outcomes. This includes the development of a Policy Innovation Fund that AHA will form in partnership with the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community this year to support activities led by Native communities and advocates to achieve policy and transformational change at the tribal, local, state, and federal levels.
Please complete the survey by clicking here. It should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. The deadline to complete your survey is May 24, 2018. Your input is important and can help shape future opportunities for your work and others across Indian Country!
