Perry’s death, as the results of suffering a massive stroke lastw week, was announced early Monday afternoon by his publicist. Mr. Perry was 52.

From Tailfeathers’ Facebook post:

A few years ago, I acted in a Hallmark movie starring Luke Perry. I wasn’t sure what to expect in meeting him but he turned out to be a really nice guy. I only spent a few days on set, but he took the time to get to know a little bit more about me. It can be really awkward and alienating to come onto a set as an actor just for a few days, and so I think he sensed that I felt out of place. He was really down-to-earth and was kind to everyone on set. On my last day, he took me aside and gave me a funny little pep talk and told me to go out there and show the world what I’ve got as a writer and director. Kind of one of those surreal random moments in life. He was a genuine dude and I’m saddened to hear of his sudden passing. RIP, Luke.

Perry is best known for his roles in “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Riverdale.
