MANISTEE, MICHIGAN – In the spirit of the holidays, the Tribal Government Employees of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians conducted a food drive over the last few weeks. All departments and groups of employees held a competition to see which group could gather the most items.
The count was held December 15th at 5:00 p.m. and together, the 180 employees brought in a total of 2274 different food items for the St. Joseph Food Pantry.
The tribe regularly supports local organizations and charities and appreciates the opportunity to once again demonstrate our love for the area and our people.
Tribal Ogema, Larry Romanelli added these comments: “Little River Band of Ottawa Indians employees are some of the most giving people I know. It’s nice to share and to be able to provide for others at this time of the year. We also know that hunger doesn’t take a break and hope all can remember to give throughout the year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.”
