The Las Vegas Paiute Tribe is seeking proposals from qualified persons with substantial experience in project management and grant management. To provide project management services for the planning, designing, budgeting, constructing, inspecting and reporting on the construction of a Gymnasium/Wellness Center, roadway and parking area to specifications in the Scope of Work below. The project site is on the Las Vegas Paiute Colony Indian reservation in the downtown area of Las Vegas, Nevada. Advocates respond to incoming calls and chat sessions from victims and survivors of domestic violence, advocates, the general public, and service providers and provide crisis intervention, referrals, information, and problem-solving to all callers.

This position requires a high level of empathy and sensitivity to all incoming helpline calls, as well as high-level communication skills. Some computer experience is a plus, specific training provided. Advocacy experience not required. Connect with people and help your community. Opportunity for advancement to a supervisory position.

Advocates respond to incoming calls and chat sessions from victims and survivors of domestic violence, advocates, the general public, and service providers and provide crisis intervention, referrals, information, and problem-solving to all callers. The shift lead will act as a support and a shift supervisor to the rest of the advocates on the line. This requires supporting advocates after tough calls, monitoring calls, and debriefing with fellow advocates.

The IT Manager supervises the IT Coordinator. The IT Manager, in partnership with other positions, is responsible for implementing the strategic vision of the StrongHearts Native Helpline.

This is a full-time job for a qualified candidate who can work remotely and effectively. JOB POSTING:  PROJECT JOURNALISTS (Contract)

Native News Online has received a grant from Facebook’s Journalism Project for a four-month journalism project about the impact of COVID-19 on tribes around the country. To conduct this project, Native News Online will be hiring six freelance writers to cover different geographic regions of Indian Country. Each writer will be paid a stipend of $2,500 per month for a four-month period to report and write stories developed in conjunction with our editor and managing editor. Stories would appear on our website, in our daily enewsletter and on our social media channels.

We are seeking writers with at least three years of experience in journalism or freelance writing for publications. You must be detail-oriented, deadline-driven and able to work with editors to develop story angles. If you would like to apply for one of these writing positions, please send an email expressing your interest with writing samples to levi@nativenewsonline.com.  Please be sure to include any qualifications, including past work with tribes, tribal organizations or the media. Preference will be given to qualified American Indian or Alaska Native candidates.  Deadline for applications is June 22, 2020.
