Second Annual Native Food Sovereignty Summit Scheduled for April 2014

FIRST NATIONS DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE NATIVE FOOD SOVEREIGNTY SUMMIT LOGOLONGMONT, COLORADO — Following up on the popularity of the April 2013 Native Food Sovereignty Summit, First Nations Development Institute, the Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin, the Intertribal Agriculture Council and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College will jointly host the Second Annual Native Food Sovereignty Summit in Green Bay, Wisconsin, April 14 – 17, 2014.

The event again will take place at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, plus locations on the Oneida Nation. Full information and online registration can be found at this link: The webpage also includes information on becoming a conference sponsor, exhibitor or vendor.

Training tracks offered included Applied Agriculture, Outreach Strategies and Oneida Field Tours. Attendees have the option of attending sessions in just one track, or they may customize their experience by selecting from any of the sessions.  There will be two optional field working sessions on Thursday, April 17 from 1 to 5 p.m.

Tribes, people or organizations looking to showcase and share traditional foods from other tribes and regions can provide food for the “grazing event” or conference dinner.
