Fort Hall Hosts Men’s National Indian Basketball Tounament: March 6 – 8

FORT HALL, IDAHO – This coming Thursday, March 6 to Saturday, March 8, 2014 the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Recreation department will host the Fort Hall Men’s National Indian Athletic Association (NIAA) 6’ and Under All-Indian National Basketball at the Timbee Hall and Shoshone-Bannock Jr/Sr high school in Fort Hall.  Over 28 Tribal teams have entered coming in as far from Oklahoma, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, South Dakota, North Dakota, Utah, Wyoming and a whopping ten (10) teams from Montana State. Locally, five (5) Fort Hall teams will compete including defending champions Blindside.

National BasketballGames will be held at both Timbee Hall and Sho-Ban school gym in Fort Hall.  Admission price is: $5.00 adults/ $4 students (with card) / $3 for elders & children / under 1 years of age are free. The championship games will be held at Sho-Ban high school gym on Saturday, March 8th in the evening.  There will be 3 places, ten (10) All- Tourney Jackets and one (1) MVP award. Winning champions will receive Leather Pendleton Letterman Jackets locally sewn by a Tribal member and trophy.  Miss Shoshone-Bannock Queen Taylor Thomas and Miss Indian Nations Alexandria Alvarez and other invited royalty will be on site to assist with awards on Saturday evening.Royalty
