LOUISVILLE — One week after sustaining a sprain injury during practice, Jude Schimmel is listed as “day-to-day” according the Louisville Cardinals women’s basketball head coach Jeff Walz.

Walz emailed the Native News Online Friday morning his answer in response to a question about whether she will be able to play when team plays against the University of South Florida Bulls women’s baskeball team.

The junior guard was injured as she was shooting baskets during a practice last Friday night. It was determined she had a sprained ankle. X-rays did not show any broken bones.

The two teams are set to play on Sunday in Tampa, Florida.

So it is not clear if she will be ready to play when the Louisville Cardinals play USF in a nationally-televised game on Sunday afternoon, January 12, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. – EST. The game will be on ESPNU.
