ATLANTIC CITY – Trump Taj Mahal will be closed by October 10, 2016 according to an announcment by owner Carl Icahn. Approximately 3,000 jobs will be lost with the closure.
The Trump Taj Mahal opened in April 1990 by Donald Trump, the current GOP presidential nominee. It was marketed as the “eighth wonder of the world.”
It should be noted the casino has not been operated by Trump since 2004 when he lost it in backruptcty. However, the casino has still used his name — for what it is worth.
The casino is required by the U.S. Department of Labor to file a date as official warning notices to all employee who will lose their jobs upon closure.
