Tribes Hire New General Contractor for Casino Expansion Project

FORT HALL, IDAHO – On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes officially ratified a new agreement identifying a new general contractor for the Tribes Phase II of the Casino Expansion Project. The Tribes selected Big-D Construction Corporation from Salt Lake City, Utah.

According to Chairman Nathan Small, “The Tribes are pleased to have Big-D Construction on board to complete the project.” Big-D construction are on the jobsite working full force to maintain a completion date of early Fall 2018.  More information will be made available on a soft opening and Grand Opening.

The new casino project adds a state of the art 85,000 SF casino that will include new amenities such as a bingo hall that will seat 240 players, a new buffet restaurant called The Painted Horse, a 24-hour deli, and a new lounge called The Stampede to the Tribes existing Shoshone-Bannock Hotel and Event Center.  These added amenities will add more job opportunities in the Fort Hall community. According to the 2010 Census, the unemployment rate in Fort Hall is around 47% percent. The entire southeast Idaho region will benefit from the added jobs and economic activity generated by the casino.
