Minnesota Housing Partnership recognizes partner’s work in latest Impact Spotlight

PINE RIDGE INDIAN RESERVATION—Since 2007, Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation (Thunder Valley) has been tackling some of the largest social, economic, and cultural issues on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.

Thunder Valley CDC empowers Lakota youth and families to improve the health, culture, and environment of their communities, through the healing and strengthening of cultural identity.

Through comprehensive community engagement, innovative programming, and sustainable workforce and housing development projects, Thunder Valley has sparked a grassroots revolution within the Oglala Lakota Nation, earning national acclaim as a pace-setting community development corporation.

Minnesota Housing Partnership recognizes Thunder Valley for its work in the most recent release of the Impact Spotlight. MHP has worked with the organization as a consultant since 2012, providing organizational and program development support.

MHP’s Impact Spotlight is an online publication celebrating the people and partnerships behind outstanding work in the fields of affordable housing and community development. MHP’s policy work and technical assistance bolster innovative organizations like Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation.
