SANTA FE—CollegeRank is sharing what many American Indians already know: The Institute of American Indian Arts’ Museum of Contemporary Native Arts is one of the best college museums in the United States.
The Museum of Contemporary Native Arts made CollegeRank’s list of the 50 Most Amazing College Museums.
The list was compiled after exhaustively looking at public data on every college and university museum in the country. Some of the factors considered were public access, past, current, and planned exhibits, architecture, history, and campus integration and support.

The Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico has the country’s only museum dedicated to the progressive work of Native artists. The Museum of Contemporary Native Arts contains galleries dedicated to exceptional Native artists including the Lloyd Kiva New Gallery, Allan Houser Art Park, Fritz Scholder Gallery and Helen Hardin Gallery. Samples of exhibitions hosted by the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts are Dark Light: The Ceramics of Christine Nofchissey McHorse and Star Wallowing Bull: Mechanistic Renderings.
