SALT RIVER PIMA-MARICOPA INDIAN COMMUNITY– With thousands of fans coming to the Phoenix community for the NFL Pro Bowl and Super Bowl, the Talking Stick Cultural & Entertainment Destination and the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community are proud to announce the Talking Stick Festival: A Destination Celebration, a three day festival in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The Talking Stick Festival will be held January 22-24 of 2015, and is designed to introduce visitors and locals to the many attractions within the Destination and become a point of pride for the Community.

“The Talking Stick Cultural & Entertainment Destination is a leading Native American cultural and entertainment tourism destination for the valley, state and nation,” said Marketing Project Manager Blessing McAnlis-Vasquez. “This festival will help us introduce visitors and friends to all our exciting amenities while infusing the experience with cultural elements that entertain and educate individuals of all ages about Native American communities in Arizona.”

Signature events will include an Indigenous Film Screening, a Native American Chalk Walk, traditional dance performances from various Arizona Native communities and cooking demonstrations with Native American chefs. Other events include storytelling, hands-on crafts for kids, sculpture tours with SRPMIC artist Jeff Fulwilder and much more.

To make transportation more accessible to visitors, event organizers have begun a free trolley. The trolley route will pick up guests from popular spots in Scottsdale and bring them to destination amenities like Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, Talking Stick Resort, Talking Stick Golf Club, the Pavilions at Talking Stick shopping center, Octane Raceway, and Topgolf.
