Sprint & Verizon Customers Have Until Dec. 31 to File for “Cramming” Refunds

Verizon-SPrintPublished December 29, 2015

WASHINGTON — If you currently are or have been a Sprint or Verizon  wireless customer within the past five years, you may be eligible for a refund.

In order to determine if you qualify for a refund, you must apply for a refund before December 31, 2015 as part of the companies’ $158 million settlement with the Federal Communications Commission and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for bill-cramming.

Cramming is a common malpractice used among telecom service providers, where hidden charges for services like horoscope, celebrity gossip and the like are imposed upon a customer, resulting in higher monthly bills. The practice occurs even though you did opt for the services.
