ATLANTA—The WNBA announced on Thursday, July 2, 2015, Shoni Schimmel (Umatilla) ranks second among guards in early returns of WNBA All-Star Balloting by Boost Mobile.

Schimmel is playing in her second season with the Atlanta Dream. She has 4,419 votes to rank second among guards and if the voting were over now, Schimmel would be named a starter for Boost Mobile WNBA All-Star 2015.

The WNBA will announce the All-Star starters during an ESPN telecast of “SportsCenter” on Tuesday, July 14. Reserves will be announced on Tuesday, July 21, during ESPN2’s telecast of the Phoenix Mercury and Los Angeles Sparks game (tip-off at 11 p.m. ET).

The Boost Mobile WNBA All-Star 2015 will feature the Eastern Conference All-Stars against the Western Conference All-Stars at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The game will nationally televised by ESPN on Saturday, July 25, at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Fans around the world can vote daily for their favorite WNBA players to become starters in the Boost Mobile WNBA All-Star Game 2015.  Votes can be cast on multiple digital platforms, including WNBA.com, the WNBA App, Twitter and Facebook.

Schimmel was named the Most Valuable Player of the WNBA All-Star, scoring an All-Star game record 29 points with eight assists while leading the East to a 125-124 overtime victory over the West.
