Seven Banned Words the Trump Administration Gave to CDC

Published December 16, 2017

WASHINGTON – More proof emerged on Thursday that the Trump administration cares very little about diversity as admininstration officials told the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) not to use seven words in their budgets they submit for the president’s 2019 budget due to be released in early February 2018.

Diversity was among the seven words.

The banned words are:
  • vulnerable
  • entitlement
  • diversity
  • transgender
  • fetus
  • evidence-based
  • science-based.

CDC officials are prohibited from using the phrases containing the seven banned words on official documents. For instance, phrases, such as “HIV among transgender people,” are banned in the budget.
