PINION, ARIZONA– Cancelled land use permit holders and community members of the Navajo Partitioned Lands (NPL) are invited to provide input on the Agricultural Resources and Rangeland Management Plan on Wednesday September 6, in Precinct 1 and 3.

Precinct 1 – White Cone Multi-Purpose Facility, 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Precinct 3 – Tonalea/Redlake, 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
The meetings will provide an overview of the planning project, present sample goals and objectives for the plan, and a survey to gather input. Strategy development relies on land user and stakeholder input so the plan reflects their values. The Plan will be completed and grazing permits reissued before the end of the year. Public meetings will not hear comments or discussions regarding issuing of permits.
The Plan will serve as a community-based guide for conservation and preservation of the rangeland for the benefit of all permitted land users, future land users, livestock, and wildlife. Current conditions on the NLP due to drought, feral horses, and many other issues, have resulted in very low carrying capacities for all range units.
The NPL Agricultural Resources and Range-Land Management Plan will be a community plan intended to help land users improve the rangeland, agricultural resources, and water resources for healthier livestock.
