CLEVELAND – Donald J. Trump, using a teleprompter that he has in the past repeatedly mocked President Obama for making speeches with one, accepted the nomination of the Republican Party in Cleveland on Thursday night.
Trump promised his faithful that he would make America great again. He promised to build a wall to keep out immigrants. Throughout his long speech that lasted past prime time, he basically screamed as he read from the teleprompter.
His crowd, the vast majority Caucasians, loved his anger- and hate-riddled speech, which constantly attacked the policies of President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, who will be formally named the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee next week in Philadelphia.
“This is the legacy of Hillary Clinton: death, destruction and weakness,” said Trump in one of his criticisms of Clinton.
Overall, Trump painted a doom and gloom portrait of America. He claims he will fix America if elected president.Trump made a lot of promises with little substance as to how he would deliver on them as president.
Trump’s speech brought an end to the Republican Party’s Convention that brought a stream of speakers who spewed out hate towards Hillary Clinton.
