ROSEBUD INDIAN RESERVATION — The FBI office in Minneapolis confirms Rosebud Sioux Tribal officers were involved in a “shooting that resulted in a death” on Saturday (January 27, 2019) evening about 6 p.m. on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
The person who was killed has not been identifled, pending notification of family members.
“It’s an unfortunate situation,” Rosebud Sioux Tribe President Rodney Bordeaux said of the incident, noting that many people know those involved since it’s a small reservation. “The families on both sides are hurt which is understandable. We’re just praying for the victim,” according to the Rapid City Journal.
