“This is a time of mourning for us – her family and friends – we are suffering a great loss,” commented Phil Two Eagle, a longtime friend of Ms. Charging Whirlwind, to Native News Online late Wednesday afternoon. Two Eagle said family members and tribal members are taking the death very hard.
“You could always see her cooking for relative’s wakes and services. Life was a struggle for her at times, but she enjoyed working with children she worked for the Head Start Program for many years and also worked for the Spotted Tail Children’s Home taking care of children who were displaced from their homes,” Two Eagle continued.
