Nike N7 Grants $10,000 to ONE Spirit to Support the Lakota Forever Summer Running Camps 

One SpiritPINE RIDGE INDAIN RESERVATION – On several dates throughout the summer, Nike N7 and ONE Spirit will support FREE camps for Lakota youth, ages 6-18, to get active with friends and learn from some of the best runners in Indian Country! Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. and camp activities run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Camps will be offered at different locations on the Pine Ridge Reservation on several weekends throughout the summer. Lunch is provided. Children attending these camps will also be able to compete in the Billy Mills Running Strong Half Marathon and running events in the Black Hills and Badlands.

Dates are as follows:

  • June 27th & 28thWounded Knee District School, Middle School Gym – Manderson, South Dakota
  • July 11th & 12th Pahin Sinte Owayawa School Gym – Porcupine, South Dakota
  • July 18th & 19th Loneman School Gym, Oglala, South Dakota – Oglala, South Dakota
  • August 8th & 9thAllen Youth Center – Allen, South Dakota

Logo2Camp facilitators are trained by Wings of America, a Santa Fe-based youth development program that uses running as a catalyst to empower American Indian youth. Additional funds and training are provided by Running Strong for American Indian Youth
