WINDOW ROCK, ARIZONA — Navajo Head Start has canceled all classes on Monday, March 2, due to inclement weather.

The National Weather Service predicts continued snowfall into the night of March 1 and onto March 2. A band of heavy precipitation continues across portions of northern Arizona. Snow levels are as low as 5,000 feet in spots. Significant additional snow accumulations are expected across this area above 6,500 feet into tonight. The heaviest snow accumulations are expected above 6,000 feet.

More snow is also expected for parts of northern New Mexico.

According to a memorandum issued March 1, all Navajo Head Start regular-status and temporary-status employees should report to work.

In the event regular-status employees are not able to report to work due to the weather, they will need to submit a leave slip using annual leave. Temporary-status employees will be designated “leave without pay” if they are unable to report to their work sites.
