ELY, NEVADA –  Dave Dolfh was driving along Hwy 50 in Nevada when he spotted flags of all colors and people walking on the side of the highway. Dolfh pulled over to discover the Longest Walk 5.2 on their way to Washington DC from San Francisco. They are walking from Elko, Nevada through Eureka to Ely, Nevada for a 3-day rest and educational stop.

Once Dolfh, an executive with Obōz, the footwear company, heard the reason for the long walkers walking along the highway, he readily agrees with the walkers mission against drugs and domestic violence. He then decided to take the foot sizes of the walkers feet and donated 30 pairs of brand new shoes.

Obōz motto is, ‘True To The Trail’ as are all the walkers and runners on the Longest Walk 5.2.

The Longest Walk 5.2 is walking across the country gathering data and speaking out about drug use and domestic violence on the reservations and all across the country.

Longest Walk 5.1 was completed last year where the walkers and runners traversed the country on a southern route gathering data from various tribes, starting with the Kumeyea Nation, and ending with the Seminole and Lumbee people.

Next year they will start near Seattle and again end in Washington D.C. walking and running through reservations along the way.

Longest Walk 5.2 will arrive at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. on July 15, 2017, all are welcome.
