Las Vegas Paiute Tribe Opens the “Largest Marijuana Store on the Planet”

Published October 20, 2017

LAS VEGAS – On Monday, October 16, 2017, the Las Vegau Paiute Tribe opened the NuWu Cannabis Marketplace. The new retail establishment is being marketed as the “”Largest marijuana store on the planet” in downtown Las Vegas, near the intersection of Main Street and Washington Avenue.

Built on a 31-acre plot of land, NuWu Cannabis Marketplace, is built on land-in trust property.

NuWu is a Paiute word that means the “the people.”

A manager at the dispensary said customers will pay the exact same amount in taxes, but the money will go to the tribe instead of the state. He said the money will go toward things like health services.

Plans call for the store to eventually stay open for 24 hours and the construction of a drive-through service for its customers.
