KANSAS CITY — The Kansas City Star has endorsed Sharice Davids, a tribal citizen of the Ho-Chunk Nation, in the Kansas 3rd Congressional District Democatice race. The Kansas primary is next Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Davids is among six Democrats seeking the nomination to face U.S. Representative Kevin Yoder on November 6, 2018 in the midterm election.

The Kansas City Star writes this endorsement for Davids;

“Our choice for the Democratic nomination is Sharice Davids.

The Star’s endorsement is based in part on Davids’ policy positions. They fit comfortably within the party’s traditional platform — expanded access to health care, common-sense gun legislation, support for schools and families and opposition to tax giveaways for the wealthy.

Voters must look to experience, intelligence, temperament, and life history to make their choice. On these terms, Davids, 38, is clearly the best candidate in the field.”
