Kalamazoo Institute of Arts Presents Curator Talk on “Out People, Our Land, Our Images” Exhibition

KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN – The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts will celebrate the opening of  Our People, Our Land, Our Images with David W. Penney, co-curator of Kay WalkingStick: An American Artist, on Thursday, July 20, 2017.

Penney is the associate director of museum scholarship at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian. He will talk about the evolving place and respect for indigenous art in museums today. Penney joined the National Museum of the American Indian in 2011 after a 31-year career at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
