DENVER — Join in on today’s “#We Are Still Here: Reclaiming #Native Truth Tweet Chat” that brings together several Native American media and other ogranizations to bring attention the findings of the “Reclaiming Native Truth: A Project to Dispel America’s Myths and Misconceptions” that was released in late June.

The chat will take place from 1-2 p.m. – EDT. I will be using my Twitter account: @LeviRickert1

The report Reclaiming Native Truth found that Native people are not only absent from K-12 education, mainstream news and pop culture, but that this lack of visibility—more than any other factor—directly undermines public support for Native rights. The report also found that 78 percent of Americans are ready for a new and more accurate narrative about the first peoples of this land.

Join us THIS Thursday, October 25 from 1-2pm EST on twitter using the hashtag #WeAreStillHere to call for this much needed narrative change.

The #WeAreStillHere Tweet Chat is sponsored by Center for Native American Youth, American Indian College Fund, American Indians in Children’s Literature, Everyday Feminism, IllumiNative,,  Indian Country Today, National Indian Child Welfare Association, National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center, Native American Journalists Association, Native American Rights Fund, Native Appropriations, Native News Online, Native Organizers Alliance, NDN Collective, Not Your Mascot, Oneida Nation, A Tribe Called Geek, The Women’s March and the Women’s Media Center.
