Damen Bell-Holter Needs Your Vote!
PORTLAND, MAINE — Damen Bell-Holter, Haida Tribe of Alaska, has been nominated to be “Player of the Year” for the Maine Red Claws, an affiliate team with the Boston Celtics.
Launched at the end of the 2011-12 season, the Maine Red Claws Player of the Year is awarded to the player(s) who best represents the Maine Red Claws, both on the court and in the community.
The Player of the Year is chosen by fan voting. The voting will be open to fans until Friday, March 14. The winner of the 2014 Red Claws Player of the Year will be announced at the team’s last regular season home game on Monday, March 31 against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants at 7:00 p.m. – EST.

Bell-Holter, 23, was playing overseas when he was invited to the Boston Celtics preseason camp. During the preseason camp, he saw a few minutes of playing time during some preseason NBA games. He was released from the Celtics on the last day of roster cuts and sent the Celtics’ Maine Red Claws.
The 6-9 forward has posted multiple double-digit scoring and rebounding performances this season with the Maine Red Claws. He has played in 32 games with the Maine Red Claws and averages 17.4 minutes per game. His season average is 7.4 points per game.
Bell-Holter participates in numerous free basketball clinics in Southern Maine. During this past holiday season, he visited the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital to spread some cheer and hand out gifts.
He was standout power forward at Oral Roberts University.
