WINDOW ROCK, ARIZONA — Navajo Nation President Russell Begaye and Vice President Jonathan Nez signed a proclamation today ordering all flags in Western Agency, Navajo Nation be flown at half-staff on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, in honor and memory of the late Harry D. Brown, Sr.
Brown was Áshiihí born for Kinłichínii. His maternal grandfathers were Tábaahá and paternal grandfathers were Honágháahníí’.
He was a Korean Conflict Veteran and former Shonto Council Delegate as well as a former Navajo Nation judge and a Navajo Board of Election supervisor. He was 85 years old when he passed on.
Brown was very well known in his community for his work at both the chapter-level and within the Navajo Nation government and also for being a traditional person who participated in Navajo ceremonies.
Both President Begaye and Vice President Nez have extended prayers and condolences to Brown’s family this week and both will attend Friday’s funeral services.
Services for Harry D Brown, Sr., will be held at the St. Jude Catholic Church in Tuba City, Arizona, starting at 10 a.m.
