“Fake” Chief Zee is Dead at 75

WASHINGTON – One of the Washington NFL team’s most infamous fans has died. Zema Williams, who has played a chief to support the racist NFL football team in Washington, D.C., was admired by those who support the continued usage of the R-word for the team’s name. Williams was 75.

Willams wore a fake headdress to the team’s games for the past four decades. He reportedly served as the team’s “unofficial” mascot.

American Indians across Indian Country oppose the wearing of headdresses by non-Natives for any reason-especially to play Indian for sports teams.
