WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, May 16 at 2:30 PM EDT, the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs will hold a business meeting to consider:
· S.1400, the Safeguard Tribal Objects of Patrimony Act of 2017; and
· S. 2804, the Cultivating Resources, Opportunity, Prosperity, and Sustainability (CROPS) for Indian Country Act.
The business meeting will be immediately followed by a committee oversight hearing titled “Protecting the Next Generation: Safety and Security at Bureau of Indian Education Schools.”
