Administration Officials and Tribal Organizations Testify on the State of Tribal Gaming
WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, July 23, 2014, the U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs will hold an oversight hearing on the state of Indian gaming.
Last year marked 25 years since the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was enacted by Congress. The Committee will receive testimony from the National Indian Gaming Commission and the Department of the Interior on implementation of the Act, and from the Government Accountability Office on its current review of Indian gaming.
The Committee will also hear the views of tribal leaders on how to ensure that Indian gaming continues to facilitate tribal self-governance and self-determination.
