OKLAHOMA CITY — A Chickasaw citizen and employee and the leader of a flagship Chickasaw Nation property are among the recipients of a prestigious state award which honors 30 individuals under the age of 30.
Brittney Orr, Ada; and Bryce Chitwood, Sulphur, recently received the iON Oklahoma 30/30 Next Gen award at The Vast in Devon Tower in Oklahoma City.
The fifth-annual award recognizes those who have made significant contributions in their careers and community, shown professional achievement, community involvement and commitment to Oklahoma’s future.
Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby said both are very deserving of the recognition.
“Brittney and Bryce are great examples of the dedicated employees of the Chickasaw Nation serving faithfully in a variety of capacities to help meet our mission of enhancing the overall quality of life of the Chickasaw people,” said Gov. Anoatubby. “We are pleased they have been recognized for their commitment and achievements.”
Ms. Orr, a Chickasaw citizen, serves as Creative Marketing Specialist in the Chickasaw Nation Department of Communications and Community Development.
“I am deeply honored to be selected for the iON Oklahoma 30/30 Next Generation award,” said Ms. Orr.
“I am grateful to the Chickasaw Nation for providing many wonderful opportunities that have helped shaped my future and allowed me to grow as a young professional.
Ms. Orr began her service to the Chickasaw Nation in 2010 as an intern in the Department of Communications, and was hired full-time as Communications Officer in 2011.
“When I completed my internship with the Chickasaw Nation, I had little idea what my future held. In that brief time, I have enjoyed many exciting experiences, professional achievements and personal milestones as an employee of the Chickasaw Nation,” she said.
“I am blessed to work in an environment that supports career development opportunities and consider this award to be a direct reflection of those experiences.”
