EAGLE BUTTE, S.D. — On Wednesday, Sept. 5, the Cheyenne River Youth Project will welcome the South Dakota Community Foundation to its Cokata Wiconi (Center of Life) facility for a “Good Grants Guidance” workshop. The workshop is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a catered lunch to follow in CRYP’s Keya Cafe from 12 to 1 p.m.

In addition, SDCF Senior Program Officer Ginger Niemann will be available for personal meetings from 1 to 4 p.m.; those interested in one-on-one guidance must sign up for their 20-minute time slots in advance. Registration for the workshop, lunch and personal guidance sessions is this Tuesday, Aug. 28.

“The South Dakota Community Foundation is excited to partner with the Cheyenne River Youth Project to bring the Good Grant Guidance workshop to nonprofits in the region,” Niemann says. “This gives us a chance to meet new friends and touch base with longtime partners in Eagle Butte and the surrounding area.”

During the workshop, participants will learn more about funding that is available through SDCF, the difference between project and process grants, what community innovation really means, and the different types of funding. Also included will be specifics on eligibility and the application process for Community Innovation Grants, South Dakota Fund Grants, and Nonprofit Savings Accounts.

SDCF is unique in that it can fund projects statewide. It is dedicated to giving every geographic area in South Dakota access to its resources.

“We’re very much looking forward to hosting SDCF and the Good Grants Guidance workshop next month,” says Julie Garreau, CRYP’s executive director. “We’re excited to provide this opportunity to nonprofits in our area, so they can learn more about the possible funding options out there and have a chance to meet with SDCF staff.”

Once again, attendees must register for the workshop and lunch by Tuesday, Aug. 28. To register, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/good-grants-guidance-tickets-48573251904?aff=ebdssbcitybrowse.
