LOS ANGELES — Ho-Chunk citizen Bronson Koenig and his Wisconsin Badgers teammates will go up against the Arizona Wildcats in Elite Round of the 2015 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament in Los Angeles this evening.

Bronson KoenigBoth teams will enter tonight’s match-up with the same 34-3 record this season.

The Badgers won their spot in the Elite Eight by defeating North Carolina 79-72 on Thursday night.

Sophomore Koenig scored nine points, with team high four assists, before fouling out of the game, the first time he fouled out of a game this season. In foul trouble, Koenig played 23 minutes of the game.

The Badgers have advanced to the Elite Eight for the second-consecutive season and the third time under Bo Ryan (also advanced to the regional finals in 2005). This marks Wisconsin’s fifth trip to the Elite Eight in the history of the program. The streaking team has won nine straight games and 19 of their last 20.

Saturday’s game will mark the seventh all-time meeting between Wisconsin and Arizona. The Badgers hold a 4-2 lead in the series, including a 64-63 overtime win over the Wildcats in last year’s West Regional Final.

Last year, the second-seeded Badgers knocked off No. 1 seed Arizona with a 64-63 overtime final in the 2014 NCAA Tournament West Regional Final.

This evening’s game is slated to begin approximately 6:09 ET at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Check your local television listing for time and channel.
