The American Indian Movement continues to be an inspiration to the community, and in the San Francisco Bay Area to friends, students, academia, and supporters. During the conference issues faced today by Native people, such as health, education, treaty rights, sacred sites, prisoner rights, child protection and the Indian Child Welfare Act, ICWA, will be examined.

On Wednesday, November 27, the organization will host the annual “Un-thanksgiving Dinner” at the Baha’I Center, 175 Valencia Street in San Francisco. The public and their families are invited. There will be a cultural program that includes drumming, singers, solo and group performances.

On Thursday, November 28, an annual sunrise gathering will take place on Alcatraz Island.

The Second Annual Red-n-Blues concert will be held on Friday, November 29 at the Brava Theater in San Francisco.

AIM West recommends hotel accomodations through the Travel Lodge,  located at Valencia and Market in San Francisco.

A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided on Monday and Tuesday of the conference through a generous donation of a youth organization.
